Install it before you fly. When you land, pick the travel line for mobile data and turn on its data roaming — the install guide shows where.
A few things to know
For most people, these four are all you need to check.
Keep your number, just add data
Your usual SIM stays in. Whether calls and texts to your home number reach you abroad, and what they cost, depends on your home carrier's roaming. The eSIM itself has no number and no SMS — for calls, use apps like WhatsApp or KakaoTalk.
One minute to check your phone
The device check page tells you right away. Older models don't support eSIM, and a carrier-locked phone may install it but not connect.
Full refund until you install it
If your plans change before you've installed it, you get it all back. Once it's installed on a phone, even before it connects, it can't be refunded.
You're on a local carrier's network
You connect to a carrier network in the country you're visiting. Speed varies with the area, the time of day and how busy the network is.
